- Open all the windows to create a draught
- Turn off the main gas tap and leave the building
- Warn others in the building (do not ring any doorbells) and leave the building
- Call the network operator as soon as you have left the building
- Do not light a match under any circumstances
- Do not smoke or use a lighter
- Do not switch on any electrical appliances or lights
- Do not use any phones in the building
