Sustainability at SUDenergie
SUDenergie is continuing its development – guided by a sense of reason and responsibility towards customers and the public, shareholders and partners, as well as towards the environment. As a responsible player in the energy market, SUDenergie has been increasingly committed to actively promoting the energy transition since 2015.
The three pillars of sustainability
Environmental factors
In addition to investments in renewable energy projects, we support energy-saving projects – both to reduce our company’s consumption as well as to motivate our customers to save energy at home via bonus programmes and to raise awareness of the issue.
However, we are convinced that our commitment to the environment and climate change has to start with ourselves. That is why we run our company entirely on electricity produced from renewable sources. Furthermore, we have been awarded the SuperDrecksKëscht® label for the sustainable use of resources since 2008.
Social responsibility
As a traditional company in Luxembourg and because the people of Luxembourg are important to us, we want to give back to society. We support regional cultural and sports associations and events, are actively involved in protecting the environment, offer training opportunities and have created student flats.

At SUDenergie, our greatest asset is people, whether they are our employees, our customers or our partners. Working and communicating on an equal footing, treating people equally and putting the interests of the many above those of the few come second nature for us. Transparency, honesty and accountability – both inside and outside our company – have won us the trust of nearly 38,000 customers and 81 employees for 125 years.

Incentivising energy efficiencySince launching in 2015, we have already supported more than 6,619 energy efficiency projects with our bonus programme. The combined impact of all these measures is equivalent to the amount of electricity that over 43,421 households consume in one year.

Label SuperDrecksKëschtfor 15 yearsIn 2023 we celebrated our 15th anniversary as a company awarded with the SuperDrecksKëscht label. The label distinguishes companies that are actively engaged in waste management and pay attention to the avoidance and proper disposal of used products. The certification is carried out according to the international standard DIN EN ISO 14024.
We have been carrying the label since 2008; its renewal is done after regular checks.
